Bible

There are two historical texts that are both considered to be the bible. They are closely tied together in time and space and are central to both Judaism and Christianity. The Hebrew Bible was composed between the 14th and 5th centuries BCE and includes the five books of the Torah and the Prophets. Also known as the Tanakh, it is traditionally thought of in three distinct parts: the Torah (teachings, or law), the Nevi'im (prophets) and the Ketuvim (writings).

The Christian Bible was adopted from the Jewish Bible, calling it the Old Tetstament. The New Testament is comprised of Gospel accounts, and the letters of apostles.
