Ordo Templi Orientis

Ordo Templi Orientis logo O.T.O is a secret, fraternal organization similar to that of Freemasonry. The O.T.O's current structure, ritually divided into thirteen esoteric grades, is composed of 'Camps,' normally containing fewer than eleven individuals, empowered to perform the initiation rituals of the 0 and 1st grade; 'Oases' are concerned with initiations up to the 3rd grade; 'Lodges' perform all grades up to the 7th, and 'Grand Lodges' are assigned initiations in the 'Ѕanctuary of the Gnosis' (8th, 9th, 11th) and control of a Рrovince. There are more than 3,000 O.T.O members world-wide, divided into about 150 official groups in over forty countries.

The Ordo Templi Orientis is "the first of the great religious Societies to accept the Law." The rituals of O.T.O. have been entirely revised by Aleister Crowley and his successors in light of the Law of Thelema. Both within its private ceremonies and in the world at large, the Order seeks to promote the Law as the ultimate standard of human conduct and understanding.

Ordo Templi Orientis was also designated as the Crowley estate, and maintains possession of Crowley's intellectual property and literary remains. As the custodian of these materials, the Order seeks to make them available to the public in definitive editions.
